Welcome to "Big Girl Club"!

This weekend has been jam packed with birthdays, alcohol, music and great food. Oh yeah, and boys. I also learned how to play my first song on the guitar- Three Little Birds by Bob Marley.

T's birthday was this weekend, she turned 22 and has now been inducted into the what we like to call "Big Girl Club". I will let her tell you all about the weekend, since it was her birthday and I do not remember much of it.

So TN and I have been spending a decent amount of time together over the past two weeks. He is really sweet and I kinda like him. Thursday night he came over and we watched a movie and ate ice cream, just what I needed after a LONG week! Friday he came out after work and met up with us to celebrate T's bday. He also took care of my drunk ass by buying me pizza and making sure I got home safely. What a sweet heart! And any smart guy would know that food is the way to a drunk girls heart! Especially mine. I tend to get in this "zone" when I'm drunk and my stomach becomes a bottomless pit that just needs more and more food. Apparently Saturday night as I was trying to scarf down my second huge slice of pizza, I tried to get everyone to stay so I could go grab another slice. I seriously was not hungry until dinner time on Sunday.

Sunday C and I joined T for her Family Bday dinner at El Vez. It has been a while since I have been there, and let me tell you... I have missed those pomegranate margaritas and corn on the cob SO MUCH! Later, T and I went to The Fire to see a band that we discovered last spring during a show at World Cafe Live.

Illinois is a fun local band and the singer plays a banjo for a few songs. They have a bunch of crazy sounds in their songs but I cant think of any other band I know that I can compare them to. Check them out though if your looking for something new to listen to. Toy Soldier was the other band we saw play. I LOVE them! The singer has such a great voice and hes so cute. They have this blues type sound and you just cant not move to their music.

The Fire is a little hole in the wall that draws a small crowd of Northern Libs locals. I would have never even known about this place if it wasn't for my friend Steph. She pretty much is their marketing intern and helps set up shows and promotes them.

That pretty much sums up the highlights of my weekend. R will have to blog soon, maybe I will assign her a day to make sure she actually contributes!

I'm out...

peace.
